Editing and proof-readingThanks to my degree in English language and linguistics, I have a very sharp eye for detail and an excellent understanding of both grammar and style. Every professional position I have held has involved a high level of proof-reading. I have edited and proof-read the theses of several postgraduate students, some of which were scientific and highly technical. I have also worked as part of quality assurance teams, providing feedback and editorial input into a wide variety of documents, both technical papers and general guidance. |
|
Technical & report writingAs an Executive Officer in the Department of Work and Pensions, I was responsible for drafting and editing a large number of documents. These ranged from internal consultation papers to guidance on new legislation for office workers and field staff. In 2002-2003, I was in charge of the evaluation of all guidance issued as part of a major Government project within Jobcentre Plus. This role involved drafting an Evaluation Approach plan, designing questionnaires, holding interviews and writing the final report for senior civil servants. |
