I have designed publications for the not-for-profit and public sectors since 1999. I'm familiar with issues of common design and brand management, and can use Quark XPress, InDesign, Photoshop and Fireworks.

Internal communications

I currently work on a contract as Internal Communications Officer for the Hull York Medical School, designing and writing student- and staff-targeted newsletters and publications. This includes a bi-monthly newsletter with a wide circulation, as well as staff and student handbooks, editing curriculum texts, and a large website. The Communications Office also oversees the use of the School's visual identity by staff and third parties.

I have also designed and edited large sections of the University of York's graduate magazine, Grapevine.

Marketing & advertising

Over three years working for the Karen Hilltribes Trust, I designed a wide range of materials aimed at a variety of audiences.
